In a bid to accelerate renewable energy initiatives, Minister Satish Sharma visited Tawanai Ghar in Bemina, Jammu and Kashmir, to encourage innovative solar energy solutions.
Today, Satish Sharma, the Minister for Food, Civil Supplies, and multiple other departments, emphasized the importance of solar energy solutions that could be implemented across Jammu and Kashmir. His visit to the ‘Tawanai Ghar’ of the Science & Technology (S&T) Department is part of a larger effort to bolster the region’s renewable energy initiatives.
Why Solar Energy Matters for Jammu and Kashmir
Sharma highlighted that the Mission Solar Energy, envisioned by the Chief Minister, aims for self-reliance in renewable energy. “Solar energy has vast potential here, and it is our duty to harness it,” he stated. The government is committed to making Jammu and Kashmir a model for adopting renewable energy technologies.
Plans for Expanding Solar Energy Adoption
During his visit, the Minister directed officers to prepare detailed proposals and implementation roadmaps. These plans will focus on expanding solar installations in government buildings and public institutions.
Further, Sharma emphasized promoting household-level adoption of solar energy through incentives and collaborations with research institutions. He believes that engaging with private stakeholders will lead to innovative and cost-effective solutions.
Addressing Employee Welfare in S&T Sector
Sharma didn’t limit his visit to solar projects; he also took stock of employees’ grievances within the department. He assured them that their genuine demands would be prioritized, stressing that employee welfare is essential for productivity.
“The Government stands committed to resolving service-related matters,” he noted. By creating a supportive work environment, Sharma aims to enhance efficiency across the board.
The Importance of Sustainable Energy Goals
The Minister reinforced the Government’s focus on sustainable growth through the adoption of solar and other renewable sources of energy. Not only will this reduce dependence on conventional power sources, but it will also aid in protecting the fragile ecology of Jammu and Kashmir.
Sharma urged officials to work with renewed vigor to make the Chief Minister’s vision of a clean energy hub in Jammu and Kashmir a reality. “Let’s work together to achieve these objectives,” he concluded.
