At least five individuals sustained injuries on Monday when their vehicle collided with another near the Zojila Pass area, authorities confirmed.
The injured included residents from Kargil, identified as Manzoor Hussain, Shabir Hussain, Sadiqa Bano, Masrat Zara, and Fareeda Bano.
Following the incident, emergency services swiftly transported the injured to the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Sonamarg. Health officials then referred them to SKIMS Soura for further specialized medical treatment.
Local police have initiated an inquiry into the accident, indicating they are taking cognizance of the incident.
This accident highlights ongoing concerns regarding road safety in this mountainous region, particularly as Zojila Pass sees an increase in traffic volume due to tourism and local travel.
