Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated the 11th anniversary of the ‘Make in India’ initiative on Thursday, attributing it to significant growth in the Indian economy and stressing its role in achieving self-reliance. In his remarks, the Prime Minister inaugurated the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show-2025, where he highlighted government efforts in simplifying operational frameworks for businesses. “We want everything from chip to ship to be manufactured in India,” said Modi, indicating a strong push for domestic production. He pointed out that the government has knocked down over 40,000 outdated compliances, consequently fostering a more sustainable business environment.

In a display of this strategic momentum, India conducted a successful test launch of the Intermediate Range Agni-Prime Missile from a rail-based mobile launcher system, showcasing capabilities that cover distances up to 2,000 kilometers. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh extended his congratulations to the agencies involved, illustrating the importance of the defense sector within the Make in India framework.
